• What is VISA or MasterCard 3D Secure?

• VISA or MasterCard 3D Secure is a service from VISA or MasterCard and Bank of Beirut designed to grant you greater security when you shop online by providing added protection against unauthorized use of your enrolled Bank of Beirut card.

• How does VISA or MasterCard 3D Secure work?

• Each time you make an online purchase, a window will pop up requesting your password, just like using a PIN at the ATM. When you correctly enter the password delivered to your registered mobile, Bank of Beirut confirms that you are the authorized cardholder and your purchase is completed.

• How do I register for 3DSecure?

• Your registration for 3DSecure is automatically activated on your first purchase when you will be prompted to provide the OTP (One Time Password) which will be delivered to your mobile number at the time of the purchase. The registered mobile number is the number you have provided your Branch with.

• Which cards are covered by this service?

• All Bank of Beirut VISA or MasterCard Credit cards issued by Bank of Beirut and enrolled into 3DSecure.

• Do I have to pay for the VISA or MasterCard 3D Secure service?

• No, the 3D Secure service is completely free of charge.

• What happens if I do not register my mobile number to my card for 3D Secure?

• If you do not register your mobile with your Bank of Beirut VISA or MasterCard Card for 3D Secure, you will not be able to pay online with your Bank of Beirut VISA or MasterCard for purchases from retailers that support 3D Secure.To activate your Card on 3DSecure, Kindly contact Bank of Beirut 24/7 Customer Service on 1262 from Lebanon, or +961-5-955262 from abroad.

• What about card payments in shops?

• This does not apply for shop purchases (i.e. not through the Internet. Payment shall be effected as usual.

• What happens when my card expires or my billing information changes?

• Your registration will be automatically transferred to the new card.

• What happens if I cancel my existing card then get a new one with a different account number?

• Your registration will be automatically transferred to the new card.
